Atlanta '94 MP3's and a 2000 Update!!

Now available in the 1994 bootleg section are 320kbps MP3's of the 4/3/1994 show at the Fox Theater in Atlanta! Ed's radio broadcast after the show is included. Enjoy!

Also updated is the 2000 bootleg section with the 8/10/00 West Palm Beach gig in FLAC!! As always with the 2000 bootlegs this one sounds fantasitic. Enjoy the show!

08/10/00 - Mars Music Amphitheatre: West Palm Beach, FL
support act: Sonic Youth
set: Of The Girl, Breakerfall, Corduroy, MFC, Once, Animal, God's Dice, Given To Fly, Evacuation, Pilate, Daughter/(WMA)/(On A Rope)/(Androgynous Mind), Even Flow, Wishlist, Timeless Melody, Off He Goes, Better Man/(Save It For Later), Nothingman, Leatherman, Porch
enc 1: Last Exit, Do The Evolution, Black, Crazy Mary, I Got Shit, Last Kiss, Baba O'Riley
enc 2:Yellow Ledbetter
notes: Before 'Pilate,' Ed has the lights put on someone in the 15th row, saying "... he was the only guy fully rocking out to Sonic Youth ... I love you," and he makes a reference to him coming back to his hotel room later. He continues, "This next song was named after a 12-foot eagle ray that was spotted off the coast of West Palm ... oh, it's the next song - sorry" (and that song turns out to be 'Even Flow' and he further explains that the ray is a member of the shark family). The 'On a Rope' snippet within the 'Daughter' tag is a Rocket from the Crypt song. Ed goes off on a little story about how no one knows much about 'Timeless Melody' and how it was written by the La's "... out of England in the mid 80s ... the words are great." Ed holds the last note in 'Better Man' for what seems like forever. During 'Porch' Ed appears to be lighting, or attempting to light, the cork on his wine bottle; he then takes the cork and blacks out under and above his eyes, and across his nose. To finish off the song, Ed slams the mic stand on the stage. Introducing 'I Got Shit,' Ed says, "Here's one we like to do with Neil Young, but we like to call him 'Young Neil'." Introducing 'LK,' he says, "This is a little sing along ... pretend we got a big campfire and pretend that no one's dead." Introducing 'Baba,' Ed indicates that the audience should be doing some singing on this one. Stone has a good night tonight, and Mikey is a maniac, really going for it with a very extended ending to 'YL,' breaking into Van Halen's 'Dance the Night Away'. The audience is MUCH better than the previous night.

Slim's Cafe 1993!!`

The 1993 bootleg section has been updated with the 5/13/93 show at Slim's Cafe in San Francisco!! This was a secret show so thanks very much to whoever was able to tape this one originally! Must have been nice to be one of the lucky 900 people in attendance for this one. Very nice setlist and this download includes the soundcheck as well. Enjoy the show!!
attendance: 900
soundcheck: Daughter instrumental, Why Go, Blood instrumental, Rats and Release guitar warm-ups, Animal instrumental, Animal, Dissident
set: Animal, Go, Even Flow, Blood, Daughter, W.M.A., Dissident, Why Go, Alive, Hard to Imagine, Rearviewmirror, Better Man, Dirty Frank/Rats, Baba O'Riley, Once, Jeremy, (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun)/Porch/(Tearing), Release, Alone, (Dirty Deeds)/Whipping, Leash, Sonic Reducer
notes: This was a secret show was a benefit to assist in legal support for a member of the Surfrider Foundation. PJ is billed as the "David J. Gunn Band" and most of Vs. (plus 'Better Man' and 'Whipping') premier as they have just completed recording the new album. The band even asks for requests at this show. Ed jokes around: "We're accepting any donations of acid that you may have. Just put it in a little envelope with your name on it ... and if we write a great song while we're on it, we'll put your name in the credits." A guitar riff from Van Halen's 'Eruption' is played between 'Why Go' and 'Alive.' 'Alive' is dedicated to Ed's uncle, Freddy Vedder. The transition from 'Dirty Frank' to 'Rats' is very cool sounding.A bit of AC/DC's 'Dirty Deeds' is played.

Greenville 1998!!

The 1998 bootleg section has been updated with the 9/04/1998 show from Greenville, South Carolina!! This one includes a couple of my favorites including "In Hiding" and "All Those Yesterdays". The whole Yield album reminds me of my final year in college so these shows bring back some memories. Enjoy the show!!
attendance: 14,027
support act: Mudhoney
Set: Oceans, Do the Evolution, Animal, Given to Fly, Corduroy, I Got Shit, In Hiding, Jeremy, Even Flow, Nothingman, Not for You, Rearviewmirror, Wishlist, Brain of J, All Those Yesterdays, Porch
enc 1: Go, Hail Hail, Daughter/(Noise of Carpet)/(WMA), Mankind, Elderly Woman, Fuckin' Up
enc 2: Indifference
notes: 'Oceans' is a beautiful opener, with a film on the backdrop showing water ripples and Ed includes the "oh, Beth" line. During 'In Hiding,' Matt hits the drums hard at the "cracks along the wall" part ... everyone stops and then Matt kicks back in (a la John Bonham) doing the quick snare, tom, floor tom, bass drum thing ... and the song starts back up. After 'Even Flow,' Ed comments on how this was the second show held in this venue, with Janet Jackson being first, and that they're gonna "burn up the stage" and "cleanse the place." Stone has two BIG solos during 'Not for You.' 'RVM' features a fast start and never slows down--spectacular! Ed turns and sings to those seated behind the stage during 'All Those Yesterdays.' Matt maintains a strong tribal beat throughout 'Porch,' and Ed takes a small mirror, walking along the front of the crowd, showing people their our reflections. When he returns to the mic, he tries to reflect someone's laser pen that had been up on stage all night. Stone is hilarious before singing 'Mankind' saying, "I have to twist everyone's arm ... I never ever get to sing what I want." Ed sings backup and plays tambourine, breaking the head, putting it over his head and then tossing it to the crowd. Mike does his finger tapping solo. Ed makes a quip about how Stone had been "begging to play a song." He says something about how the last time they were in South Carolina, they saw a lot of small towns and they were glad Matt "got to see you," leading to 'Elderly Woman.' During 'Fuckin' Up,' Mike goes on top of a speaker stack and lies on them on top of his guitar after looking like he might go into the crowd for a moment! Stuff is thrown on the stage all; toward the start, Ed makes a great catch of a shirt and when another one is tossed up shortly after, he says, "Okay, that's enough. Only one catch a night." 'Indifference hasn't been played since the Australia shows. 'MFC,' 'Black' and 'Trouble' are on the setlist but not played. Many different solos and breakdowns in tonight's songs. Solid show, good crowd but the GA on the floor was rough.
